Privacy
We keep as little about you as we can: only what we need to give you a page a day, save your progress and manage your plan. We do not show ads, we do not sell your data and we do not use third-party trackers.
Who we are
ClueSip is run by [COMPANY LEGAL NAME], [ADDRESS]. We are responsible for your data (the “controller”). Questions about your data? Write to [CONTACT EMAIL].
What we store
- Your email address, so you can sign in and we can send sign-in links. If you sign in with Google, we get your email from Google.
- Your settings: your English level (A2, B1 or B2), your goal (a daily habit or an exam), which exam and its date if you give them, your reminder time and your time zone.
- When your free week started.
- Your progress: the pages you worked on, your letters and answers, and when you finished.
- Your word cards: the word, its meaning and when it is next due for review.
- If you use the AI tutor: the sentences you write and the corrections you get back.
- Your plan from Stripe: which plan, its status, and when it renews or ends. Not your card number.
We use this only to run ClueSip for you: to show your page, save your progress, bring your words back, correct your writing and manage your plan. The legal basis is our contract with you.
Who processes it for us
These companies work for us and handle your data only to provide their service:
- Supabase: Database and sign-in. Your account, settings, progress, cards and tutor texts are stored here, in the EU.
- Stripe: Payments. Stripe takes your card details on its own page and tells us only the state of your plan.
- Anthropic: AI. Anthropic's Claude writes the daily stories. If you use the AI tutor, the sentences you write are sent to Anthropic to be corrected. We do not send your email or name.
- Cloudflare: Hosting. Cloudflare serves the website and, like any web host, handles your IP address to do so.
- Resend: Email. Resend sends your sign-in links and account emails, so it handles your email address.
Some of these companies are based in the United States, so your data may be handled there. Where that happens, they use the safeguards the law requires, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
No ads, no trackers
There are no ads, no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers on ClueSip. Your browser keeps a small sign-in token so you stay logged in on your device. This is needed for the service to work.
How long we keep it
- Your account, settings, progress, cards and tutor texts: while you have an account.
- When you delete your account, we delete all of these straight away. Copies in backups are gone within [BACKUP DAYS] days.
- Payment records (invoices) are kept by us and by Stripe for as long as tax law requires, usually [YEARS] years.
Deleting your account
Open Me and choose Delete account. This deletes your account and everything listed above, and cancels your plan if you have one. You can also write to [CONTACT EMAIL] and we will do it for you.
Your rights
- Ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct it.
- Ask us to delete your data, or to stop using it.
- Turn reminders off at any time in Me.
- Complain to the data protection authority where you live.

Changes
If we change this page in an important way, we will tell you by email before the change applies.
